Stanley Access Technologies Awarded $875K Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Project.
Perkins + Will Architects and Stanley Access Technologies team up to develop an $875K innovative ballistic door, storefront, security revolver, and turnstile solution for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. This enhanced security system is scheduled for installation Q3 2013.
During the fall of 2012, the Perkins + Will team reached out to Art Bullman, SAT’s Government Business Development Manager because of his previous project experience with the firm. Art immediately engaged local Territory Manager, Matt Mathews and Regional Manager, Jim Wise, for local support and negotiations. The Team developed a UL Level III ballistic door solution that integrates with Rapiscan screening machines. It creates a ballistic mantrap designed to encapsulate the front entrance screening area. This innovative solution became a sole specified item on the project due to Art’s efforts in proving the Stanley products superior performance ratings.
In addition to our products, the architects also specified security turnstiles and revolvers from Boon Edam, an SAT business partner.
The project was released for bid in late 2012, and while the SAT equipment was solely specified, the security revolvers and turnstiles were released for competitive bid. Realizing SAT was not the lowest, the team worked to open up negotiations with Boon Edam, the glazing contractor, and the Architects. In the end, SAT’s competitive pricing, superior products, customized solutions, and timetable for completion prevailed, and SAT was awarded the entire project.
The team continues to support the project and presently have an additional $175K of potential change orders if the various alternatives are approved.
Congratulations to Art, Matt and Jim on a job well done as we continue to increase our share in the critical Government Sales Market.
